Landscaping Can Add Value/Enjoyment To Your New Modular Home
Make gardening and landscaping a Four-Season Activity!

Call it gardening, or call it landscaping, but by any name it’s the final piece of the puzzle that can turn your beautiful new house into a showcase modular home!

modular homes, prefab homes, modular constructionGardening/landscaping is not only a good investment into the aesthetics of your modular home but a good financial investment as well. Some experts feel quality landscaping and gardening projects can increase the value of a home up to 15%.  Improving the grounds around your prefab home is also a great hobby and has been shown to be a stress reliever.  There was a time when many people believed that gardening and landscaping were activities reserved for the warm weather months. However, with the development of today’s hybrids, which are grown to withstand colder temperatures, and good old regular colder weather plants, gardens are becoming a year round venture.  Here’s some tips to putting together Four-Season Garden/Landscaping projects for your home:

  1. Location.  Carefully observe your potential garden or landscaping site over the course of several days. Note the amount of sun and shade the area receives and then choose plants, trees or shrubs that will thrive in those conditions.

  2. Garden Center .  Choose a garden center that can offer you a great selection of plants and tools as well as  knowledgeable employees. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get suggestions from you Garden Center employees.

  3. Photos  Bring photos of your potential garden/landscape area to the garden center to help you choose plants that are right for the soil and size of the site as well as for the sun/shade conditions. Remember to choose plants with their mature growth size in mind!  Placing plants that will have large height and width too close to each other could stunt the growth of your plants.

Make your gardening and landscaping a year round activity by doing seasonal planting. Here’s just a small portion of the many seasonal choices available to you:
In addition to plants and shrubs, consider adding water gardens, small tasteful decorations even bird feeders as part of your overall landscape and gardening plan.  Most of all, take the time to enjoy your new prefab home and the beautiful new gardening and landscaping.
